New Year's Resolutions the Abe Way

Extract from p. 2 of the Abraham-Hicks newsletter Jan/Feb/Mar 1999.

ESTHER: Abraham, How do you feel about New Year's Resolutions? And how would you approach a New Year's Resolution if you were in our physical shoes.

ABRAHAM: They are a wonderful idea. They fall into the same category as Segment Intending or Positive Expectations or Deliberate Creation. Most New Year's Resolutions, like any new decisions, are made from a rather clear awareness of what you do not want or of what has not gone well, and so, in order to set your New Year's Resolutions into motion with enough momentum to keep them going, it is necessary to spend some time lining up your energy with your new decision. Many people make resolutions, and often by the first or second day of the new year they have gone back to their old habits, and then they feel discouraged. Every day provides a wonderful opportunity to set forth your clear intentions. You do not have to wait for a new calendar year.

Find a comfortable place where you will not be interrupted by. Write at the top of your notebook page:

My Dominant Intentions

Then write four sub-headings:

1. My Current Intentions Regarding My Body

2. My Relationships

3. My Home

4. My Work

Then, write a general description of how you want to feel and be, regarding each of the four categories. Be general and easy. Let these words come easily from you.

Now, go back to the first category, focus on the topic, and sit back, relax, and daydream about this. Imagine your body looking just as you would like it to look. See it in your mind's eye. Try to imagine how that beautiful body would feel. Move it, in your imagination. Take it for a walk, dress it in something that pleases you. Appreciate it's stamina and flexibility and clarity. Spend as much time daydreaming about this wonderful physical vehicle as you can. Stay in your vision until you feel refreshed, and continue to be there as long as you can.

Now, go to the second category, and do the same thing. Bring an image of the most significant person in your life experience and see that person with you. Feel appreciation for that person. Mentally speak your appreciation. Imagine that person loving you back. Praising you, and complimenting you. Feel your mutual appreciation and admiration. Stay within the vision until you feel refreshed.

Now, go to the third category, and feel appreciation for your home. Make mental pictures of your home as you want it to be. See it orderly, if you desire that, and beautifully furnished, if you desire that. In an easy and carefree manner, imagine it however you would like it to be. Take pleasure from your vision and stay there until you feel refreshed.

Now, go to the fourth page, and gather a mental picture of your work. Feel appreciation for the excuse it gives you to flow energy toward something. Acknowledge how expansive it is, and feel appreciation for its ever changing nature. See yourself expanding and thriving. Stay there until you are refreshed.

There is no right or wrong way to approach this. The thing that is important is that you choose areas of your life that matter most and that you conjure positive images that thrill you. And as you do that, you have not only resolved, in your own mind, how your New Year will be, but you have notified everyone and everything in the entire Universe and you have solicited their assistance in achieving your intentions. And from that moment forward – the entire Universe will conspire to assist you.

Joy is Normal.

Abraham-Hicks G-7-6-95

Abraham: Most of you feel resistance and think it's normal, and we want you to know it's not - it's not normal. It's ABNORMAL. It is not anything like who you are.

What is normal to you is enthusiasm!

What is normal to you is laughing a lot - many many times a day!

What is normal to you is feeling strong and secure!

What is normal to you is feeling so much self-confidence, so sure about who you are that when you look at others you're always in a position to uplift them.

What is normal to you is to have so much energy that at the end of the day you're still looking for things to do!

What is normal to you is to have such a passion for life that you're eager to get together with other people to hear about what they're doing to see if it's anything you might want to turn a little of your attention to.

What is normal to you is to have so much energy at the end of the day that you're already eagerly planning tomorrow.

What is normal to you is feeling disappointed that the sun goes down and enthusiastic that the sun comes up.

What is normal is a zest for life beyond anything that most of you ever have remembered or felt in a long long time.

THAT'S what's normal!

Nobody Is Answering Your Prayer

Guest: I still don't know why you prayer or why people would answer your prayers though.

Abraham: Nobody is answering your prayer. Your prayer causes you to focus, and Law of Attraction causes everything in the Universe that's in vibrational harmony with your focus to come to you. So the prayer is answered by your vibration. Nothing outside of you is answering it. It is the purity of your vibration that causes it to come. That's why we say no one can deny you or grant you anything. It all comes to you by virtue of your vibration.

But it is helpful, for some, to believe that there...iow, to focus on this nebulous energy is a little less satisfying in the beginning, than to believe...

In other words, physical beings keep saying, "I want to be good just tell me what to do."

But if somebody gets too busy telling you what to do, you begin to feel lack of freedom, you see. And so there is no ONE answering your prayer, it is the Universe and its vibrational affinity by Law of Attraction that causes the response. But we have to say, that All-That-Isness that is responding to your vibration _is_ that which you call God.

To Better See the Solution, Minimize the Problem

Seth: The Personal Sessions, Book 4, Session 08/14/78, pgs 332-334.

(Hat tip to Ric of Seth Practicing Idealists.)

Seth: Your whole civilization is immersed with the idea that the way to solve a problem --any problem, private or worldwide-- is to exaggerate it, see its worst projection; and this, then, is supposed to make you take proper action.

The approach unfortunately solves no problems, and only compounds them, whether the nation is trying to solve problems of energy, or social problems, or whether an individual is try to overcome a dilemma.

You are so immersed in that method of problem solving, however, that it comes back to haunt you. At least you can be aware of it and alert.

I will give you the answers to your questions, but they are not the way to solve your problem--and against all conventional knowledge, reviewing the mistakes of the past does not lead to wisdom.

When you become so worried, of course, you concentrate even further on the problem--how bad it is, and what will happen if it becomes worse in the future.

The problem is, therefore, compounded to whatever degree--and when I give you both such reasons, then sometimes you use them, the two of you, to ADD TO your private and joint self-disapproval.

(snip)

The belief is that if you frighten yourself badly enough through imagined projections and imagination, you will be frightened enough to change--but the nation or the individual following that method does not change for the better, but compounds the original condition, concentrates upon it until it looms larger than before.

Such methods cause panic, national or individual.

(snip)

To solve a problem you begin to minimize its characteristics, diminish its importance, rob it of your attention, refuse it your energy.

The method is the opposite, of course, of what you are taught.

That is why it seems to be so impractical. I have said this so many times--and I do realize it is difficult for you--but you cannot concentrate upon two things at once. So to the extent that you concentrate upon your pleasures, your accomplishments, and to the extent that you relate to the PSYCHIC AND BIOLOGICAL MOMENT, you are refreshing yourselves.

You are not projecting negatively, and you are allowing the problem to un-wrinkle, un-knot.

You are denying it the energy of your attention that keeps it going.

You do not spend time thinking that you have not used your abilities properly. You take it for granted that you ARE using them properly, and that allows them to fully develop.

In Love = In the Vortex

Abraham- Los Angeles, CA 09/06/09 (Hat tip to David on Yahoo Groups.)

Guest: My wife says I'm "different".... We're each other's best friend, we do love each other, but she's just not 'in love' with me anymore. Something has shifted and I don't know what.

Abraham: That "in love" thing is not what people think it is. First of all, no one is ever 'in love', unless they're in the Vortex. Never. Because in the Vortex is connected with Source.

View Photos of Singles - Match.com

So what happens is, you're young, you're more carefree, or you're distracted from stuff that's bothering you, by each other, so you inspire each other into the Vortex. "Ahh! Aha!" You're in the Vortex and you're looking at each other, and there's all that physical good stuff. And there you are in the Vortex, in the Vortex, in the Vortex, "In Love, In Love, In Love."

And then, you step into life, and you're out of the Vortex and you say, "You don't love me anymore, I don't feel the same way." And we say, it has nothing to do with THEM, it has to do with whether you're in the Vortex or out of the Vortex, in the Vortex or out of the Vortex.

That feeling of 'in love' is that feeling of 'in alignment' as you hold someone as the positive object of attention, you see.

Religion's Catch-22

Abraham, Mexican Cruise, 2/2009

Guest: But then the Buddhists have this kind of almost guilt trip that says that if you do commit suicide then you set yourself back many many many lifetimes. That's what spawned my thought as you were talking previously.

Abraham: Well, there are many people who teach that in their effort at controlling the behavior of others. Isn't that the ultimate control or grip around your neck? Your life is miserable. (It's like being at Guantanamo.) You're miserable, but we won't let you die. IOW it's the same sort of trying to control.

People say, "if you want to be part of our religion then you have to keep these rules."

And you say, "Well those people are thriving and they're not keeping the rule."

"Oh, we forgot to tell you, you don't get to know whether you've kept the rule or not until after you die. And here's the list of rules that you'll be punished for after you die."

And so then so many people are just scrambling around trying to figure it out. And we say, how do you ever let someone outside of you, and some set of rules outside of you, be louder and clearer and stronger than your own Guidance that is being offered to you from Source. In other words, Source Loves You.

The thing that you, you and we (it's the work that we do)...we want to help them to understand there's not a Dark Switch.

What to say to Suicidal or Troubled Teens

Abraham, Mexican Cruise, 2/2009

(Abe counsels the counselor on what to say to troubled teens.)

Abraham: It's easier to no longer try to modify my behavior to please the unpleasable. I reached somewhere else. I found out I was looking for love in all the wrong places (tell them). I was looking for love in all the wrong places.

And you'll find it in the death experience (say to them), you will. You'll find that love you're looking for in the death experience, and I think that's why it is appealing to you, but I don't think you should have to die to find the love. I think that it's available to you, but you're just tuned to a different frequency.

And hey, I can see how you got tuned to that different frequency. I can see how you got tuned out of alignment. I've been hearing your stories. I've met your parents. I get it. I get why it's hard for you. But I have a sense about you that you didn't come here wanting an easy way. And then, give some other analogies that...

Guest: And so that brings up the bigger subject then of self-love as we talk about being able to love ourself enough to be in our own vortex enough of the time, or all of the time, or most of the time, as opposed to being out and focusing on other people...

Abraham: But stop there for just a moment. Hold that thought. We really want you to come back around to it. But think about it in the context of what we just said. If you could say to them: I think, friend, that you are mastering or on the verge of such self-love that you've figured out that that might be a way that you can totally reemerge into the total love of self.

Guest: Mmm. Wow.

Abraham: But say to them, "There are easier ways. And disregarding the peanut gallery really is one of them, even though it doesn't seem like it, but I'll teach you how (say to them). I'll teach you how. I'll teach you how to release the unlovable. And by that I don't mean (say to them), I don't mean those who you are having a hard time loving, I'm saying those who are having a hard time loving you. You want to release your opinion of their opinion of you from your experience."

Guest: So is that what having a hard time self-loving is? Is that people are just caught up in others' opinion of themself for so long?

Abe: Exactly what it is because if they weren't doing that thing that they do, they'd be swept into the vortex. So here is Source adoring you...*adoring you*. And as long as you feel adored, then you get swept in where all the good stuff is.

But then someone says: You're bad. Not only are you bad you're really bad, and not only are you really bad, I've always known you were bad, and I've never liked this about and this about you and this about you.

And as they drone on and on and this person listens to it and trains themselves there, then even though Source is trying to call them in, they've developed these vibrational patterns where they can't go.

And that's why it occurs to them in their most poignant moments of letting go that... that feeling of Source calling, they're translating it as "I've got to be dead." Because they think it's Dead or Alive. And they want that so much that if that's the choice, "Dead or Alive"... I want that, I'll take dead.

And what you've got to help them to understand is that it's not dead or alive, it's in alignment or not in alignment and you don't have to be dead to be in alignment. That's the message that they want to hear from you, you see. And they'll hear it more loudly than all others who you might teach.

Guest: It's true. It's true. Even teenagers at that age are much more able to hear that, I find, than even the adults that I try to counsel who are dealing with them.

If All is Curable, Why is there Death?

Abraham, San Francisco, CA 2/24/2007-B

Guest: I have three questions.

Abraham: We have one answer.

Guest: I'm wondering if nothing is incurable, why is death inevitable.

Abraham: Oh, that was such a loaded question because what your question seems to mean is that there is life and then there is the long, sickly slide into death. As if the only reason anyone would ever die is because they have an illness. IOW, it's hard for you to conceive that anyone would want to die.

And we say you understand that you want to be born into this physical body, why is it hard to conceive that you would want to reemerge into pure nonphysical energy? The death experience, energetically speaking, is as exhilarating as the birth experience since there is no death. We like to call it croaking. We like to be as disrespectful as we can because there is no such thing as death. Did you feel the depth of the resistance in the human perspective relative to that though?

Guest: Yes, I think so. I'm trying to assimilate what you're saying.
Abraham: So ask the question again.

Guest: So death, "croaking", let's call it "croaking", okay, croaking seems to be an inevitable experience.

Abraham: But hear it from our POV. Life is inevitable. A changing of perspectives is inevitable. Eternalness is inevitable. That's like saying...how would like it if you say: I was born into this physical life experience, and I went to a movie one day. And now I have to watch the same movie over and over and over and over and over. Every time I try to get out of theatre they say No, it's not your time yet; go back.

IOW, this is just one of the aspects of Who You Are. You never intended to stand in one place.

Guest: Okay

Abraham: You begin to develop this resistance to, and it is odd, because it is inevitable, you don't know anyone that doesn't experience it, and yet you dread it. And a question like this further enhances the dread, doesn't it?

Guest: Well, I'm not sure, exactly, really. I'm trying to reconcile, if there's nothing that's incurable...

Abraham: IOW, if disease doesn't take you out, would anybody die. Let's take away train wrecks, car wrecks, trucks running over you. And disease...and there's leprosy...

We love this question because what you're helping us amplify is that there are many people who make their death experience in the same way that you make your next choice in life experience. IOW, sometimes you've lived enough live and you've put enough into vibrational escrow that the death experience is the call of Source.

IOW, when this time space reality is no longer serving you in the powerful way you've intended, you often opt for reemergence into nonphysical and a fresh start again. Humans don't like the thought of that because they say oh the last start was pretty rough going and I just got it squared away and now I have to start all over? I have to be a teenager again?

But, we lovingly want to say to you that that is a question that would ever only be spoken from human perspective and from a disconnected human perspective as well.

Guest: Okay. Thank you. My next question: we can decide how we're going to die and when we're going to die?

Abe: You are the creator of your experience and in that sense, without exception, every death is suicide because nothing happens to any of you that is outside of what's going on in your vibration.

Guest: Whether we're conscious of it or not.

Abraham: A lot of creating by default going on by a lot of people because you're offering vibrations all over the place not tending to them because you've forgotten that it matters how you feel. It's a very common thing. People will say, "I must speak the truth. I must face reality." And we say why keep active in your vibration something that you don't want. "Because it's true."

We say but surely there are things that are true that cause alignment with source. IOW, just because it's true, it doesn't deserve your attention. Pick the things that are true that feel good when you focus on them and let that be the vibrational base of your life experience. Good.

Abe speaks to a Mother whose son was murdered

Abraham, San Rafael, CA 7/25/04

He's in such a good place of Pure Positive Energy, while you are still in despair and rage, you don't have access to him. You think that the loss of contact with your son that is the heart of your discomfort when what it really is, is the loss of full connection with your Source!

And now your son and your Source are vibrationally in the same place, so reaching for a re-establishment of a relationship wtih one will cause you to re-establish a relationship with the other.

And that is the glory of death. We just love it when someone dies because it stimulates within you the desire to reconnect with joy you have not yet known in this physical life experience.

As you begin playing the game of moving up the emotional scale and you begin receiving these communications, instead of hurting you, they will thrill you. Goose bumps will move through you. So. Good to know!

Truth and Communication

Abraham, Orlando, FL 2/15/97

You've heard us say that communication is essential. You all cannot stop communicating. You're vibrationally radiating your communication constantly and what trips you up and makes you think that maybe you're not a good communicator is that very often [what you say and what you vibrate is not the same.] What you mean is being communicated - and what you say is something different, and they're getting what you mean, and not willing to accept what you say.

How often does your partner says to you: "Are you mad at me? " And you answer "No.", but you are! What you are FEELING is what you're COMMUNICATING!! You all are communicating much more clearly than you think. [When you think you're not communicating], you're just not a vibrational match to what you think you're saying. What you think you're saying is not what you're really saying. That's the problem. Not a match.

Do you follow?

When You Don't Know What to Do

Abraham-Hicks, Pivoting and Positive Aspects, Special Subjects, Vol. 2

Sometimes when you are in the midst of a situation, you struggle to find any positive aspects within it, we know that. Some things are intolerable, some things are so big and so bad that it does not seem possible for you to find any positive within it. But that is because most of you are trying to decide what action to take that would correct it, and sometimes you are in a situation where there isn't any action that seems appropriate, you feel pretty much in a corner.

What we're wanting you to always remember, is that while there may not be a positive aspect to your action in this moment, while you may not be able to figure out what to DO that would make you feel better, you ALWAYS can figure out how it is you want to FEEL. In other words it is a matter of coming back, coming back, coming back, coming back, or another way of saying it would be to draw inward, inward, inward.

If you were watching a gymnast on the balance beam, and he is out of control, he has lost his balance, you would note that those who are really professionals do not try to somersault themselves back into balance. Instead they stop and regain their balance, and then they proceed forward. By focusing on how you are wanting to feel, this is how you regain your balance.

And friends, we acknowledge that, very often, the action, what to do is not absolutely clear. And we also acknowledge that you are not always clear even about what you are wanting to have. But it is our ABSOLUTE KNOWING and our absolute promise to you, that you always know how you are wanting to feel. You know you would rather feel happy than sad, refreshed than tired, invigorated rather than enervated. You KNOW you would rather feel productive than unproductive, free than confined, growing rather than stagnant.

Seth: Differentiate Between Primary and Secondary Experience

Seth, The Nature of the Psyche, Session 799

Seth: Now, Physically your body has a stance in space and time.

I will speak of primary and secondary experience. Let us call primary experience that which exists immediately in sense terms in your moment of time--the contact of body with environment.

I am creating certain divisions here to make our discussion---or (with a smile) monologue-easier. Therefore, I will call secondary experience that information that comes to you through, say, reading, television, discussion with others, letters, and so forth.

The secondary kind of experience is largely symbolic. This should be clear.

Reading about a war in the middle of a quiet sunny afternoon is not the same thing as being in the war, however vivid the description.

Reading about the energy shortage is not the same as sitting in a cold house.

Reading about the possible annihilation of mankind through nuclear destruction or other stupidities, while you are sitting calmly enough in your living room, is obviously far divorced from the actuality described in an article.

At the levels with which we are concerned, the body must primarily react to present, immediate, primary existence in space and time.

At other levels it is equipped to handle many kinds of data, in that I have mentioned before the precognition of cells. But the body depends on the conscious mind to give it a clear assessment of precise conditions of the space and time it occupies. It depends upon that knowledge.

If you are safely ensconced in a comfortable room, in no present danger, your senses should accurately convey that information.

Your conscious mind should assimilate it. It should be an easy enough accomplishment to look around you and see that you are in no danger.

Your conscious mind is meant to give your body an assessment of what I will call cultural conditions, for there are sophistications and specifications that in your terms consciousness alone can assess.

If, under conditions naturally safe in the terms of primary experience, you become overwhelmed by unsafe signals from secondary experience - that is, from your reading or whatever-you show a lack of discrimination.

You are not able to differentiate between the physically safe present situation, and the imagined, which is perhaps unsafe, calling forth the alarms of danger.

The body mechanisms become highly disoriented. The signals to the body are very contradictory, so that after a while, if such conditions continue, you can no longer tell whether you are in actual danger or imagined danger.

Your mind then forces your body to be in a state of constant alert- but more unfortunately, you train yourself to ignore your direct, sensual feedback in the present moment.

Your body then might say you are safe, and your senses show you that no danger is present-yet you have begun to rely so upon secondary experience that you do not trust your creature reactions.

Because of man's great gift of imagination, however, the alarm signals not only invade a safe present moment, but go jangling into the next one and the one following, and are endlessly projected into the future.

To whatever extent, and in whatever fashion, each individual is therefore robbed of his or her belief in the personal ability to act meaningfully or with purpose in the present.

The body cannot act tomorrow, today.

Its sense data must be clear. This resulting feeling of powerlessness to act leads to a state of hopelessness of varying degrees-and that mood does not tie itself to specific details, but pervades emotional life if it is allowed to.

Abe Classic: Releasing Resistance

Abraham-Hicks, Fairfax, VA 4/29/95

Imagine this situation: A car is driving down the street at 100 mph, and it runs into a tree which is standing right in the middle of the road. Big problem. Two factors are involved - one is the velocity of the car and the other is the tree standing there. If the car were only going 5 mph, even if it hit the tree, it would not be a big problem. Or it could easily avoid the tree at 5 mph. Or, if the tree were not there at all, the car could be going 200 mph and it would not be a problem.

Every now and again, somebody will say to us, "Abraham, is it normal for all hell to break loose in one's life when they begin doing Abraham work?" And we say, "Yes, in the beginning." Because the first thing we encourage you to do is identify and clarify your desire. Desire is synonymous with the velocity of the car. When you identify and clarify your desire, your car goes faster, which means you're likely to run into those trees; trees which were there, in most cases, for many years, but you were not noticing at a slower speed. Now that your energy is moving faster because of your desire, your resistance is more apparent. Are you getting a sense of what we're talking about?

Most people, when they get in that situation, slow the car down. They slow the wanting down. And that gives them a temporary feeling of well-being. But it doesn't do anything about the resistance. So you can go through years, with this resistance getting a little more and your car going slower and slower. That's why people decline as they move through time. They want less, which means they summon less energy - because in wanting something that they cannot have, they were frustrated and banging into trees, so they slow their wanting down and let their resistance get greater and greater.

And that's the state of affairs that you see in most people around you. Well, what we're wanting to teach you is to get your car going so fast that those trees become very obvious and now you know what to do with the trees. In other words, you stop and just talk about it until you feel better and, in time, there are no more trees. In 30 days of applying this, you can release 95% of them. And then now and again, an old ugly tree that has been with you a long time will rear its ugly head and give you a run for your money, but when that happens, at least now you know what to do about it.

Recreate Healthy Body Cells Part 3

Continued from Part I and Part 2.

Abraham: So a healer who is really helpful is one who helps soothe his client into a place of allowing the answering to what the cells have been asking for. The very best healing words, if you are wanting to find a phrase that would be beneficial to everyone whether they could really hear it and believe it, and understand it or not would be:

Well Being should be yours. And your cells know exactly how to ask and what to do, and if you could completely get out of the way and trust, you would become well again because the cells know what they need and they are asking from their direct source of life. And if you're not in the way of that, that cell is going to find it's recovery; and if that cell does the other cells can; and if enough of them do, you're going to feel really good.

That's powerful.

So the trick is how do I do that when I hurt? How do I do that when somebody's given me a label that frightens me? And we say, you've got to separate the two journeys. You can have the illness and feel hopeful or you can have the illness and be afraid. You've just got to soothe yourself.

Words like "Faith" and "Trust" are really irritating, we know, but there is a vibration within those words "Faith" and "Trust"; the vibration that is really at the heart of those words is a non-resistant place of expecting well-being even before I have any reason to given the evidence that I have.

And so what people usually say is give me a reason to have hope, and I'll have hope. Or give me a reason to have faith, and I'll have faith. And so that's the reason that so many methodologies, so many different medicines, and so many different processes have come about because people-they're almost frantic for hope, you see. And anybody that can give it to them is a powerful healer. If you can find a way to convey hope, and trust, and faith, then you have helped them with their emotional journey. And when you do that the natural resources will take care of everything else.

And everything else is a dog and pony show. Everything else is just jumping through hoops for some other reason. It has nothing to do with what really happens. So the surgery? Just an afterthought. The medicine maybe gives you reason to believe. All that stuff is just serendipitous, but not at the heart of the remedy.

So what did we just say? We said here you are in a place you don't want to be: you're sick, your body hurts. And out of that contrasting experience is born a louder and clearer desire than has ever been emanated by you before. It went out sharp and clear and source heard it and answered it; and so help was on the way immediately.

And then a surgeon said, Let's do this, it will help. And those words soothed you into allowing the remedy that you were seeking. Or someone said, "Here's an herb." and your belief in them caused you to allow, and so you did. In other words, Alignment; we don't care how you get it. Anyway you can get it is just fine.

We're not trying to guide you away from surgery, or away from herbs, or away from medicines, or away from methodology, or away from sound machines, or away from anything. We're not trying to guide you away from action. We're just guiding you to attending to your emotional journey first, and the action will come so much easier.

Guest: Thank you.

Abraham: Yes, indeed.

Recreate Healthy Body Cells Part 2

Continued from Part I.

Abraham: So now what was your question again?

Guest: So since this process is going on, and what I want to do is get younger, or I want to heal a part of my body. I have a scar and I know that all the cells aer going to change out in that piece of skin in a short period of time, vibrationally I want to be able to instruct the cells, not instruct the cells, but ... uh ... gosh ... vibrationally, I want to allow the healing to take place.

Abraham: Better words. Better words because... hear the difference because you caught yourself in a very wise way. Hear the difference between taking it upon myself in a sort of action journey way to instruct the cells, and taking the emotional journey - which means just find something to feel good about, get out of the way, and allow the cells to receive what they've been asking for.

And that really is the key to healing. The key to healing is starting with the premise - that is accurate - that well-being is the basic nature of the body. And then doing whatever it takes to keep yourself from interrupting, or keeping that from happening.

And then the next step in that progression is understanding that if you are interrupting or inhibiting the well-being you are feeling negative emotion at the same time. Negative Emotion is the indicator that you're doing that. So do your best to feel as good as you can feel emotionally, and you take care of everything, you see.

Guest: But can that be directed at a specific part of the body?

Abraham: Yes, but you don't need to be the one that does it. By your directing it to a specific part of the body usually causes you to focus on what's wrong, so your efforts are counterproductive.

Guest: Mm-Hmm. Okay that makes sense.

So very often a healer will see someone in need of some repair, and their attitude is "well I will shine my healing light upon that," which is understandable why they would think that, but it compounds the problem. Because the problem is not for lack of asking - that's already been taking place - it's lack of letting the answer in. And just giving more answer - as in funneling healing energy towards a problem - doesn't help any. It usually causes a greater contradiction in the energy.

When you apply more Pure Positive Source Energy to an area where resistance is already in existence, more discomfort happens. That's why often people will say, "Is it normal for all hell to break loose in my life when I begin doing mediation?" And we say yes because when you begin meditating the energy starts flowing which makes any resistance you got going on show up more - especially at first, you see.

Recreate Healthy Body Cells

Guest: I have heard from several sources that all the cells in the human body are replaced within about a year's time. One person I know has diabetes and her pancreas has not worked for decades. Another has a nerve injury that prevents her hand from working. How can we vibrationally create the perfect cells to regenerate the body part that is not functioning properly?

Abraham: Well, let's look at a physical body and all of its cells, many of them, trillions, hard to count. Imagine a very small community, and you've been watching them from a distance and you notice that they have some very destructive beliefs.

And some wise person says to you, "Well, don't worry about this village because in time all of these people who are now here practicing these not-beneficial beliefs will be dead, and they'll be replaced with a whole new village."

And you say, "Well, that does give me hope. " And then you say, "Will they all die at the same time? And will they all be replaced at the same time?"

And then someone wise says to you, "No, some of them will go, and more of them will come; and some of them will go, and more of them will come."

And then you say, "Well then, it's going take a while for these undesirable beliefs to be watered or filtered out because the ones who are still there that still have the beliefs are going to teach them to the new ones who are coming on."

So, you get the gist of our story. It's sort of what happens with your body and your cellular communities. Once the cells in a particular area of your body begin behaving in the way that they do, they have the same power of influence that anyone does to anything that is near.

The difference between the analogy of the people in the town that it would be nice if they'd all die in the same moment, for the purpose of our story, and the cells in your body, is that the cells in your body are all Pure Positive Energy cells, iow, they are actively, instinctively working for their own personal survival. Something that we've been trying to get all of you to do, at least in these hours that we've been discussing here today. We want you to more selfishly approach your own experience.

So the cells of your body, do you know that they are the first point of the summoning of the life force? Do you know that it is the cellular summoning of Source or the cellular asking that is the reason that the doctors pronounce you alive or dead, iow, it's that cellular summoning that is that difference.

So the cells are summoning, and Source is answering. And if that were all that was to this cellular community...these cells that know how to be well, if they somehow found themselves teetering on a little bit of imbalance, they would just make the correction automatically, they always do; and Source would answer the corrected request, and the cell would right itself within the body; and a body of very well cells is a very well body.

But there is another factor that effects the way the cells are able to receive what they are asking for, and that is the influence of the mind, or the vibrational patterning, or the attitude, or the mood of the human that is inhabiting the clump or cells.

Abe on Communication Breakdown

Abraham-Hicks, Washington, D.C.

So if you find yourself having a hard time communicating with someone say to them, "I'm not being clear." And before they protest say, "And I don't mean I'm not being clear with my words. I mean this conversation has got me thinking in opposite places." And then say to them, "Thank you, because in this contrast I'm getting clearer about what I'm reaching for."

And then end the conversation. Never proceed with a conversation that is off on the wrong foot. That's what we were saying to the very first person we were talking to today. When you take action before you've lined up energy, there's not enough action in the world to make the difference. You can't find the words. But when you're tuned in, tapped in, turned on, you're inspired to the perfect words.

And you know, a teacher is only as effective as his ability to understand where his student is. So a communicator is only as effective as her ability to understand where the person is that you're trying to communicate with. If you're over here with all the knowledge in the world and you're trying to talk to somebody who is nowhere near it, and you're talking over here, and they're over here; they're not hearing you anyway. IOW, that's like 630 AM and 98.7 FM. The frequencies aren't matching up. Nobody's getting anything about it.

And so, you must understand where you student is, or where the person you're communicating (with) is, and then you get closer to them so that you can call them closer to where you want to be.

But then you don't want to do _that_ often because then you say, "Well, here I am over here in my clarity. And here they are over there in their confusion. So I'll just go over here. So I'll just go over here...Oh, now I'm confused."

And we say should have stayed over there in your clarity.

You say, "Yeah, but they couldn't hear me. So I thought I'd just go get them!"

And we say looks like they got you!

So the most important thing to remember is stay tuned in, tapped in, turned on. It's not your job to teach anybody else anything. Life will teach them. Teach through the clarity of your example. If you're having a hard time communicating with someone, don't communicate with them. It's a waste of words anyway.

Just stay over here and if they catch up with you they'll come over and you'll have a nice conversation and if they don't, they'll go away. And somebody who is up to speed with you will come over and you'll have a nice conversation. But stop trying to convince people against their will. It is vibrationally impossible.

Simultaneous Time: It's Not What You Think

Abraham-Hicks tape 5/8/93

Simultaneous time is something that from Non-physical we acknowledge because we know that whatever we can give our attention to, we are there in that moment. Simultaneous time does not mean what you think it means. It does not mean that everything you have ever lived is right here in the now. It means that you have access to anything that has ever been because you have the ability to vibrate with it, and therefore bring it to you.

Simultaneous time has been misunderstood by almost every physical being who has ever used the word because what you think it means is that your past present and future is all right here... where what it means is all of your power is in your NOW. The only thing that you have any [control over] is where you are vibrating right here and now.

As you are physically focused you do have the ability to connect with non-physical energy that has broader perspective; and this non-physical broader perspective of you does have the ability to look back into the 14th century, the 13th century , the 18th century. But let us tell you something about your Inner Being: Your Inner Being, even in looking back, will never address the Holocaust, because your Inner Being is pure positive energy, so when you do the only thing that you have to notice is you are disconnected from who you are. The source of that which you are you see.

Visualization as Entertainment

Abraham-Hicks, St. Louis, MO, 7/18/00

You go to a movie to be entertained and uplifted, to be distracted, inspired. You go because you think it will be fun, and that's the reason why we want you to visualize. We want you to visualize for the fun of visualizing, to make visualization satisfying to you as much as going to the movies.

Practice your visualization for the pleasure of the vision rather than because its an exercise that'll get you from one place to another. Because when you say, "Here is where I'm standing -- I would like to be over there, and I'm going to do an exercise to get from here to there," what happens when you do that is you are including both vibrations in your mix, but when you say, "I'm gonna visualize this, because it's fun to visualize this, because its uplifting to think about," now you leave that part of the vibration out of the vibration. That's really, really big!

The Universe has the ability to yield to you in ways most of you are not ready to accept or understand. So that's what visualization is all about: it's bringing yourself to a joyful vantage point. It's like painting the most pleasurable picture so that you become a vibrational match to something that you're wanting -- dreaming it into place.

And when you meet those in your environment that have mastered anything -- whether they are a scientist, actor, teacher, singer or parent -- those who are successful and are thrilled and joyful will tell you, "I've dreamed this since i was little -- I imagined it, I pretended
it...," because in that fresh, pure, pure, pure -- you'll keep hearing that word from us -- purity of your vibration comes the alignment of energy. Purity is the alignment of energy.

It doesn't matter what anyone thinks about anything. It only matters what you think about it. Dream your dream for the dream's sake, and never mind about reality or probabilities. That's what's tripping you up, because in the dream you can make it pure, and when you make it pure in your dreams the universe will answer it.

So it boils down to you're dreaming it for the THRILL of dreaming it, not because you're trying to create with it, NOT BECAUSE YOU'RE TRYING TO CREATE WITH IT! That is the fly in the ointment. That is what's keeping most of you from letting your vibration really be pure.

You are all so practical-minded. You say, "Shouldn't I be doing something? Shouldn't I be suffering a little more? I'm taking pleasure from the visualization, but what good is that doing?"You have been taught all of your life to get your head out of the clouds, get your feet on the ground and face reality -- and we say NEVER DO THAT unless reality is really, really, really pleasing to you. Otherwise, take the best parts from the buffet table called Reality -- your life -- and fill in the gaps with your vision.

Hate Men? Or Women...but still want a relationship? Good Luck.

Excerpt from Abraham's latest book "The Vortex"- p. 91

She Wants Someone, But Not That One

Jerry: Okay, so what would you say about a woman who seems to feel good about herself, who continues to express her desire for a mate, but who disqualifies them, one by one, as the parade of men moves through her experience?

Abraham: Her desire for a mate keeps the men coming, but her belief in bad relationships causes her to push them away. And her attention to unwanted characteristics makes it impossible for the characteristics that she desires to come her way.

If she is continually focusing upon what she does not like in the men coming to her, her chronic attention to the lack in others is keeping her from being in alignment with Who She Really Is, and under those conditions, she cannot be feeling good about herself or about anyone.

Finding lack in others is not the path to liking what you see in yourself.

If you are a person who has trained yourself to look for positive aspects, you will find them in yourself as well as in others. If you are a person who has trained yourself to look for negative aspects, you will find them in yourself as well as in others. Therefore, it is always accurate to say that no one who is critical of others really likes themselves. It defies Law. Whenever you see those who are very critical of others, you are actually seeing people who do not like themselves.

Abraham: Losing Your Temper

Abraham-Hicks Workshop: (If anyone knows what workshop this is from, please let me know.)

Guest: I just don't want to lose my temper.

Abraham: Well, we don't care if you lose your temper or not because your temper is not your Point of Attraction; the vibration that's behind that emotion is, so losing your temper is irrelevant. You think that that just causes them to respond in a stronger way, but they're getting your vibe whether you blow up or not. In other words, people can tell how you feel. They can tell if you appreciate them or if you don't. They can tell if you think they're doing good work or if you don't.

This is the answer to your dilemma here. Don't demand that they do good work before you see them doing good work. If you can see them doing good work before they do good work, they'll do good work. But if you need them to do good work before you see them doing good work, you'll never get there.

Now we just want to wrap this up today with this really big idea and as you ponder it over the next few days it's going to bring all of you to a place of greater alignment: The dominant reason that any of you feel negative emotion is because you've become something that in this moment you're not letting yourself be. In other words, you're denying your own expansion and that's why you feel negative emotion. You're not letting the expansion that has occurred vibrationally blossom in your experience in terms of manifestation.

So when you have, in that way, disappointed yourself by not keeping up with Who You Are then you want to find fault with Everybody in the World because if they'd just be better, you'd feel better. Just know that every time you're mad at anybody, it's your own disappointment about not being Who You Are, you see. And now we remind you it's never about the doing, it's always about the vibrational aligning.

You have options in every moment: You can feel good or you feel bad or you can feel badder or you can feel gooder. You can feel a little better. You can feel a litter worse. You can poison the well a little or you can try to filter the water a little. You can stir it up and more trouble. You can stir it up and make more positive. You can make people smile. You can make people frown. You can make people feel better. You can make people feel worse. You can dig in make a negative point. You can dig in and make a positive point. You can be a little more hopeful. You can be a little more worried. You can make an effort to laugh. You can make an effort to cry.

You have options that you can exercise and as you let what drives you be the way you want to feel, as you reach for feelings that feel like what you think that would feel like and as you achieve them and you will again and again and again and again and again... people that are doing exactly the same thing that they're doing now that are annoying you, will not annoy you, you will see them as children on their path of discovery.

When you see a child who has not yet learned to walk, who is attempting to, but who isn't good at it yet, fall over, you don't say, "Get up, you litle dummy." Instead you say, "That was good and you'll get better. And you'll like it when you're walking because it's really really fun." Just know, that every time you see a deficiency in another, it's about you're own Gap and nothing else.

Abe on Drama Queens

Abraham-Hicks
Los Angeles, CA 8-4-07

Something big shows up in your life, as a result of this tension. Could be a bankruptcy, that's on the subject of money, but it could be a physical breakdown, which is also on the subject of resistance; so whatever it is, it got bigger.

And now you have a manifestation. Ooooooo, a real life manifestation. (laughter) A diagnosis in your body. Or something. And what we want to say to you in a way that you will really, really hear it, know it, feel it, and benefit from it, is: that manifestation, big bad and awful as it may seem to be, is only an indication of vibration. Period.

It's not a death sentence. It's not a proclamation of how good you are. Or bad you are. It is not anything more than just the extension of indicator of how you have been offering your vibration.

You don't go to the gas station with your indicator on your gas gauge on empty and have a sort of emotional meltdown, (laughter) putting your head on the steering wheel, "I had SO hoped for MORE!" (laughter)

It's just an indication.

Abe on Alzheimer's.

Abraham-Hicks San Antonio, TX 11-17-07A

So much has been thought about getting it right. That you've been sent here to prove worthiness. And we feel sorry for anyone who has been given a set of rules that they have been told to keep because first of all you're insecure about whether you've got the right set of rules or not, and there isn't one of you who believes you KEPT it right.

And so if that's the mindset that you have, you're not ready to have your death experience. And that's another thing that holds people in that awkward, uncomfortable place for so long. There isn't something in this physical lifetime that's still calling them, but they don't believe that they have fulfilled the requirements so they are AFRAID to go there for fear they will not be prepared. And so under those conditions, these loving, benevolent universal forces of Source Energy just create the path of least resistance.

We would like you to put that label on Alzheimer's: Rather than calling it a dreaded disease, call it the gift of Source of the path of least resistance to those who are no longer focused and wanting to live, who can make an easy and comfortable transition into the wholeness of who they ARE. That's a much better and much more accurate label for it, you see.

Procrastination Is Not a Bad Thing

Abraham-Hicks tape G-02/08/91

Abraham: Don't beat up on yourself about procrastination, for this reason:

When you are focused upon what you want and you are in a place of really expecting, in other words 'pure creation', you will be inspired to action and the action comes easily, but if you are not really clear about what you want, or if your expectation is not quite yet in alignment then it takes more action. But even in offering the action, it is counter productive because you are working against yourself. In other words, you are splitting the energy.

You are following?

So, procrastination is nothing more than your physical realization that you are acting too soon, that some mental alignment is in order, or that the fire isn't there yet, so don't spray the hose in the house!

It is interesting that you ask us to reinforce your memory of the Book of Positive Aspects for it is the key of the final statement or question that you have asked. It is the way to bring your self from a place of procrastination - which isn’t a bad thing!

Procrastination is not a bad thing! It is the realization that the Universe has not sufficiently aligned. It is the same thing as saying "Abraham, I went out to the garden. I looked at the bush. I saw that great big green hard tomato and I just didn't feel like plucking it and eating it." We would say of course you didn't feel like plucking it and eating it. You'd rather wait a few days until it becomes soft and delicious and ripe and ready for you.

And in the same way we say don't try so hard to bang your way forward. Allow, or trust, that the laws of the Universe will bring things into the perfect alignment. And you be one who is at the right place at the right time, and you _will be_ when you are looking for reasons to feel good.

If They Can't Meet Your New Vibe, Let Them Go.

Abraham -- Asheville, NC, G-09/05/98

You have more harmony points with every person on the planet than you have disharmony points, because there is much more of you that is in harmony with your Core than you realize or that most of you allow. The closer you come to being in harmony with your Source Energy, the more in harmony you are with each other.

When you think about other people and what they think of you, do you understand that what they think of you has very little to do with what you are? It has mostly to do with the habits of thought that they have developed. It has more to do with them as thinkers than it does with you as the subject of their thought. If nothing is more important to you than that you feel good, you can form a fantasy about someone who is in your life and they will begin to modify to meet your fantasy, because Law of Attraction is a very powerful thing.

When you decide that you want to feel good, and you reach for the vibration that feels good to you and you establish that as your Tone, either the people around you will be uplifted to join you in that vibration or, if their vibration is already very well chosen otherwise, they will clatter right out of your experience. But what happens to most of you is, while they are clattering out of your experience, you notice they're clattering. You begin to clatter too, and then they clatter right back into your experience, and you clatter together miserably and continually.

Co-Dependent vs Independent Relationships

Abraham-Hicks, Kansas City, MO 9/15/04-B

It is possible for you to be selfishly oriented and care about someone else at the same time, but you can't let what they want matter more to you than what you want, or you are going to get out of balance. Then that's where you start sacrificing, which lays the groundwork for resentment.

Then you find yourself in an adult relationship, like so many adults who have parents and parents who have adult children, and none of them even like each other because their relationship is based on sacrifice and resentment instead of upon balance and alignment and self-sufficiency.

[snip]

Someone who really wants to help really enjoys a needy friend, sort of a nice balance. "I like to help and you like to be helped, so we get along really good together."

But most of you have to acknowledge that the people who make your heart sing the most are those independent, self sufficient beings who aren't dependent upon you for their joy.

When someone says to you, "You need to do something so I can feel better", if there is only one of them, you might take them in as a friend. But if you get a handful of them, then you've got a burdensome crowd hanging around you.

To Play like Michael Jordan?

Abraham-Hicks, El Paso, TX 2/17/01

When you watch the replays of your Michael Jordans, or any of them - there are many of them that have talents that you are wanting to experience yourself - as you watch them, ask yourself one question: Where's his mind? What's he thinking? But most importantly, how's he feeling? What's his mood or attitude?

And what you will see, again and again, is, he feels invincible. He feels sure. He has utter confidence. In other words, it's his MOOD. That's what you're wanting to practice when you're watching. Not what's his shot. Not what's his game. Not how he's moved. Not what's happening with the other players around. You're wanting to look into his eyes as the camera gets there, as much as you can, or look into his body behaviour and you're wanting to ask yourself: What's his mood? What does he know, right now? What's he KNOWING, right now?

There's never a particle of uncertainty or anger or belligerence or getting even or blame or doubt or fear. It's all that other stuff, that knowing, that confidence.

Seth Classic: There Are No Accidents

Seth Class, June, 1973 excerpted from Conversations with Seth.

(Slightly modified to fit blog dialogue format.)

Seth: Any accident – and this applies to each of you - is no accident. Your good health or poor health is no accident. All of this has meaning to you.

If you cut your finger, it is no accident. If you stub your toe, it is no accident. If you come down with the flu, or with a virus, it is no accident. If you have a chronic physical difficulty, it is no accident. If you are creative, it is no accident. If you get good news, it is no accident. If lovely things happen to you, it is no accident.

You form your reality. And this applies all the way down the scale from your consciousness that you think of, to the tiniest molecule in Lauren's eye!

Bob (Class Member): I was thinking about my motorcycle accident. It was basically the same thing. It's true that I solved a lot of problems, but I can't help thinking that I could have solved the same problems without doing something so radical.

Seth: Perhaps now you will work out problems at conscious levels. It is only when you are not willing to face consciously your own beliefs, and face them through and make distinctions, that seemingly unconscious accidents occur: when all of a sudden you are not as quick as you should be; or, when all of a sudden, your reactions are not as good when a car comes that should not be there.

Each of you has your own way, and an event that seems horrendous from the outside-from the inside, from your private viewpoints, may be something else entirely.

[snip]

In nature, there are no accidents. If you accept the possibility of the slightest, smallest, most insignificant accidents, then indeed you open a Pandora's Box, for logically, there cannot be simply one small accident, but a universe in which accidents are not the exception but the rule. A universe in which, therefore, following logically, your consciousness is a combination of an accidental conglomeration of atoms and molecules without reason or cause that will vanish into nonexistence forever even as, indeed, they would have come from nonexistence.

Once you accept, you see, that idea, then if you follow your thought completely enough, you must accept the idea of a random accidental universe, in which you are at the mercy of any accident, in which mind or purpose have little meaning, in which you are at the mercy of all random happenings, in which 300,000 human beings can be swept off the face of the planet without reason, without cause, simply at the whim of an accidental happening.

And if that is the universe in which you believe that you live, then it is a dire and foreboding universe, indeed.

In that universe, the individual has little hope, for he will return to the nonexistence that his random physical creation came from. Following that line of thought, then, if you follow this through, a group of atoms and molecules were accidentally sparked into consciousness and song and then will return to the chaos from which they came; and the individual has no control over his destiny, for it can be swept aside at any point by random fate, over which he has no recourse.

All of this can be related to ordinary life. Whenever you think that you have a headache, simply because you have a headache; or you bump into a door simply because you bump into a door; or you have an accident simply because you happen to be in a particular place at a particular time; whenever you feel yourself powerless, then you think that accidents happen and that you have no control over them. The only answer is to realize that you form physical events, individually and en masse. And as I have said time and time again, you form the physical reality that you know.
