Worry as a Little Bit of the Death of Who You Really Are

Abraham -Tarrytown, NY 10/9/04B

Abraham: You worry so much about death that you can't enjoy your moment because death is lurking, death is lurking, death is lurking. So the older you get, the more depressed you get because the closer to death you get, and we say, you're never close to death! You're always alive, and you're as alive as you allow yourself to be in this moment. And we'd stop pronouncing the moment that you re-emerge into nonphysical as death and start calling it what it really is, which is more life. It's a more revitalized life, you see.

And as you start looking at death as life, then you'll start allowing more life while you're in this physical body, and that which you call death will not be lurking in a way that messes up every moment between now and when the truck runs over you. (Laughter.) You should all be so lucky. (More laughter.) Esther said, "Happy, healthy, happy, healthy, happy, healthy, dead." And we say, but of course. She doesn't have to plan [an] airplane crash or [a] truck running over
them. She can go to bed and re-emerge in her sleep.

Get Your Taxes Done Right and Affordable!

IOW, you can pick it any way you want, but the important thing is you've to make death a non-issue and make life the issue. And so, as you're focused in your now, what are you doing now? Are you allowing yourself to live fully or are you worried about something?

So your friend says, "I've got plenty to worry about. I'm justified in worrying." And we say, nobody's justified in worrying. Nobody's justified in worrying. It's just the excuse you're using not to allow yourself to live fully now. There's no justification for worry, because there's nothing worth worrying about, because you're eternal beings and you can't die.

So, now that one's wiped off [your list], what are you going to worry about? "Well, somebody could mistreat me." No, they can't. Nobody can mistreat you if you don't achieve a vibration that attracts it -- so wipe that one off. And little by little, pretty soon you'll scratch all the points of worry and all the points of frustration and all the points of disempowerment off your list and you'll finally be who you are -- free to be the joyous being that you are. Yes.

Abraham: Don't worry, honey. It's not real.

Abraham, Philadelphia, PA 10/13/04

Abraham: We want you to be very particular about the reality that you watch because the reality that you watch is only a movie that someone else has created. Everything that everyone else is living is as fictitious as the movie that you watch because it’s not real in the sense that it now has the power to jump into your experience.

When you go to a movie and you see something that frightens you, you say to your child, “Don’t worry honey, it’s not real.” And we want to say to you, you could see someone with cancer and you could as accurately say the same thing to that [child] “Don’t worry honey, it’s not real.” Because it has been created by the vibration of that person. It doesn’t have a reality of its own and the power to jump into your experience.

People will say, “Well Abraham, it’s truth, it’s real, it’s fact, therefore I should give my attention to it.”

And we say, “Did you hear what you just said? Someone else gave their attention to something that they did not want, did it long enough that the activated vibration became a dominant vibration until they created it in their experience. And because they have done that, I should do it too.”

And we say, “We wouldn’t.”

Seth Classic in 3 Steps: Open In Case of Trouble

Seth - The Way Toward Health - April 19th, 1984

Seth: There are certain simple steps that can be followed, whenever you find yourself in a difficult situation, whether the condition is one of poor health, a stressful personal involvement with another, a financial dilemma, or whatever.

These steps seem very obvious, and perhaps too easy—but they will bring an immediate sense of ease and peace of mind while your inner reserves are being released and activated.

I have mentioned these steps many times, because they are so vital in clearing the conscious mind, and bringing some sense of relief to the frightened ego.

  1. Immediately begin to live in the present as much as possible. Try to become as aware as you can of present sense-data—all of it. Often, while you are in pain for example, you concentrate upon that sensation alone, ignoring the feelings of ease that may be felt by other portions of the body and unaware of the conglomeration of sounds, sights and impressions that are also in the immediate environment. This procedure will immediately lessen the pressure of the problem itself, whatever it is, and give you a sense of refreshment.

  2. Refuse to worry. This fits automatically with step 1, of course. Tell yourself you can worry all you want tomorrow, or on some other occasion, but resolve not to worry in the present moment.

  3. When your thoughts do touch upon your particular problem in that present moment, imagine the best possible solution to the dilemma. Do not wonder how or why or even when the ideal solution will come, but see it in your mind’s eye as accomplished. Or if you are not particularly good at visual imagery, then try to get the feeling of thanksgiving and joy that you would feel if the problem was solved to your complete satisfaction.

These steps will allow you breathing time, and actually help minimize the pressure of your situation, whatever it is. Then quieted, you will be able to consider other more suitable steps that may more directly address your particular solution.
