Hard Labor v Visualization

Abraham-Hicks,  Boston, MA -10/09/99

Act a little less and think a little more. We're not saying stop acting and do it all in mind. We're saying work your 8 hours or your 10 hours or your 16 hours, just spend at least 10 or 15 minutes -- in a day where you are working 8-10-16 hours of physical action in order to maintain the physical stuff that you've gathered around you -- trying to find pleasure from some vision. Afford yourself that. And that 10 or 15 minutes that you are finding pleasure will cause a focalization of Energy within you that the Universe will actualize around. You will begin to notice that you are more productive, because of 15 minutes of  visualization, than you were from 16 hours of hard labor.

Create Your Own Position

Abraham-Hicks (tape), 12/14/90

Abraham: A very nice man called recently excited that a new job position was just coming into fruition. An opening that had never existed before was now being offered and it had new job specifications. And as he viewed it he was delighted to see that it matched everything that was his idea of the perfect job to have.

And yet he could not accept (because he is still playing the game of being too humble and timid to accept his own power of creation) he could not accept that that job was literally a product of his own creation- that the balance of thoughts, speculation and ideas that he had been offering over a period of time had literally resulted in somebody else within the structure of the organization bringing into fruition this.

Abe: You Actually DO Want to Work. Really.

Abraham-Hicks, Phoenix, AZ - 04-26-94

Guest: I have a question that has to do with business. I have two businesses that I'm working on right now. And one of them, it's real easy for me to flow my Energy to. And I work alone. And I'm very, very good at what I do - and I like it!

The other business depends on other people, to attract the right people to be able to make a business work for them. And what's happening is I'm not attracting people that are capable and willing to do it without me. I mean, in other words...I'm trying to create a business where, once I give them the idea and teach them how to do it, that they should just do it. And what I'm wanting to know is -- and when they talk to me, they talk like they want to do it and they're going to do it. They never seem to get around to do or it, or they have all these obstacles that stop them from doing it. So...

[snip]

The promise is to be able to build an income that will continually come in, called a passive income, that if I get up, or if I don't get up, I still have an income coming in.

Abraham: And so, what we want to point out to you is that there is something inherently wrong with that. And what is inherently wrong with it is that you are, from your place of not wanting to work so hard, saying, "I don't want to work so hard. I want to find something that doesn't require so much hard work." So from this place of not wanting to work so hard, from that feeling place, you've involved yourself in a business that promises that you won't have to work so hard, but the *vibration* is lackful!

And so, here is the bridge for that: We don't think that you are not wanting to offer effort or Energy. In fact, we think that if any of you did not have to go to work tomorrow, that you'd fill your day with something else! - You'd be golfing. You'd be shopping. You'd be getting together with friends. In other words, you like the deliciousness of spending your time in purposeful ways. So it's not that you don't want to do something; it's that you want more choice about what you do.

So what you're wanting to begin saying is, not "I want a business that will provide me the luxury of income even if I don't do anything." The bridge that you're wanting to say is, "I am wanting this business because I get to choose every part of my involvement in it. And, as I choose every part of my involvement in it, the dollars will flow to me, abundantly."

Can you feel sort of the difference in that?

[snip]

So as you put a different twist on this -- in other words, what comes to you is not about earning. It's about opening the valve and allowing. What comes to you is not about justifying, or excusing, or explaining. Most of you work so hard to justify the money that comes to you. And if you'd just chill out, the money would come much more easily, you see!

But you've got yourselves vibrationally convinced that you have to pay a price, that there has to be strain and struggle for there to be any payoff. And we say to you, that is utterly backwards. That only works in a world that is pounding on action. And action won't bring you, in Esther's terms: 'diddly squat'! Action will only provide for you a miniscule, mediocre experience. It is not your action that brings it to you. It's your vibrational Energy flow!

[snip]

Guest: So, would it pay for me to spend some time with the people that I'm involved in business with, then, talking about how we're flowing our Energy? Or should I do it myself?

[snip]

Abraham: What you're wanting to teach them, and what you're wanting to remember, yourself, is -- you're wanting to keep your valve open. And if you can keep your valve open, while you worry about what somebody's doing or not doing, you're a miracle. In other words, we've never met one who could do it. If you can keep your valve open while you're talking about getting rid of this job, you're an anomaly to the Law of Attraction as we know it to be. We've never met one, you see!

So when, instead of following the techniques that others have tried -- and we tell you, millions have tried and millions have failed -- instead of trying these techniques that have been bantered about for centuries, if, instead, you will say, "I'm going to keep my valve open relative to this subject. Now what is it about this business that rings my bells?" And you just concentrate on keeping your valve open, you see...

You may have heard it said, "It's not the words you speak. It's the music you're playing." When you're tuned in, tapped in, turned on, when you're feeling great, they gravitate to you. That's why your business grew faster in the beginning, before you knew so much. When you thought they'd all get in and go, your valve was open, and more of them got in and went. But when you started noticing not all of them wanted and not all of them went, and you started noticing that good numbers of them didn't go, and you started concentrating on that, your music stopped. You see what we're getting at?

Most of all, lighten up and have fun!

It's Normal to Throw A Fit - That's Guidance.

Abraham - San Antonio, TX 11/17/07

(Blogger's note: Guest says that when she gets into relationships, the first thing she does is look for what's wrong with they guy and is looking for a process for that.)

Abraham: So here's this vision of what you want and here's this person that doesn't look like what you want. That's why you freak out! And then you say "You… bugger (emphatic)... YOU should be like THIS! And then I'd be altogether."

And we say, what you want to understand is, it's normal to throw a fit. We want you to make peace with that. It's normal not to feel good when you're not letting yourself be who you really are. That's guidance. That's guidance telling you [that] you're looking at something different than what you want, so right there when you're looking at it, you can do something about it other than ask him to change because the vision is there and there's plenty in this Virtual Escrow that is contained right there in that person, right there in that client /employer/ that segment of the universe.

There's plenty in there that matches this, you just have to go on the treasure hunt and find it. And when you do, you've matched you're vision, you see. And that's how you have your cake and eat it too. That's how you line up with who you are. That's how you be true to who you are. That's how you find true integrity. Integrity with who you are without offending everybody else. And that's how you keep moving from place to place, person to person, face to face in order to find what you want.

That was really good.

The Visionaries Create Employment

Abraham-Hicks, Kansas City, KS G-9/27/98

The visionaries are the reason for the massive employment in your world and the high economy. You don't meet them every day because they're not out there in the trenches. They usually don't have their sleeves rolled up, and they are usually not mixing among the others. They're meeting on islands. They are living the good life. They are connected to Energy Stream. They are visionaries. They are the reason that your technology is where it is. Are they scientists? No. Are they the mathematicians? No. Are they the bricklayers? No. All of those magnificent beings are an important part of the co-creative mix. Every one of them is as important as any other, even as important as the visionary himself. But the visionary is the one who holds the hope or the idea and believes it so much that he holds a guiding light that Law of Attraction can actualize around.

Is it possible to be the visionary and the actionary of your own life? Not only possible, it's the way most of you intended it to be. It's the best of all worlds. What can be more exhilarating than to find a dream from the contrast, to fixate on the dream and let it give you pleasure as it grows, and then to watch Law of Attraction bring it into manifestation while you help with your action? Does it get any better than that? You didn't think so as you made the decision to come forth into these physical bodies. You said, "This is the best time in all eternity for a Creator to Create."

New Year's Resolutions the Abe Way

Extract from p. 2 of the Abraham-Hicks newsletter Jan/Feb/Mar 1999.

ESTHER: Abraham, How do you feel about New Year's Resolutions? And how would you approach a New Year's Resolution if you were in our physical shoes.

ABRAHAM: They are a wonderful idea. They fall into the same category as Segment Intending or Positive Expectations or Deliberate Creation. Most New Year's Resolutions, like any new decisions, are made from a rather clear awareness of what you do not want or of what has not gone well, and so, in order to set your New Year's Resolutions into motion with enough momentum to keep them going, it is necessary to spend some time lining up your energy with your new decision. Many people make resolutions, and often by the first or second day of the new year they have gone back to their old habits, and then they feel discouraged. Every day provides a wonderful opportunity to set forth your clear intentions. You do not have to wait for a new calendar year.

Find a comfortable place where you will not be interrupted by. Write at the top of your notebook page:

My Dominant Intentions

Then write four sub-headings:

1. My Current Intentions Regarding My Body

2. My Relationships

3. My Home

4. My Work

Then, write a general description of how you want to feel and be, regarding each of the four categories. Be general and easy. Let these words come easily from you.

Now, go back to the first category, focus on the topic, and sit back, relax, and daydream about this. Imagine your body looking just as you would like it to look. See it in your mind's eye. Try to imagine how that beautiful body would feel. Move it, in your imagination. Take it for a walk, dress it in something that pleases you. Appreciate it's stamina and flexibility and clarity. Spend as much time daydreaming about this wonderful physical vehicle as you can. Stay in your vision until you feel refreshed, and continue to be there as long as you can.

Now, go to the second category, and do the same thing. Bring an image of the most significant person in your life experience and see that person with you. Feel appreciation for that person. Mentally speak your appreciation. Imagine that person loving you back. Praising you, and complimenting you. Feel your mutual appreciation and admiration. Stay within the vision until you feel refreshed.

Now, go to the third category, and feel appreciation for your home. Make mental pictures of your home as you want it to be. See it orderly, if you desire that, and beautifully furnished, if you desire that. In an easy and carefree manner, imagine it however you would like it to be. Take pleasure from your vision and stay there until you feel refreshed.

Now, go to the fourth page, and gather a mental picture of your work. Feel appreciation for the excuse it gives you to flow energy toward something. Acknowledge how expansive it is, and feel appreciation for its ever changing nature. See yourself expanding and thriving. Stay there until you are refreshed.

There is no right or wrong way to approach this. The thing that is important is that you choose areas of your life that matter most and that you conjure positive images that thrill you. And as you do that, you have not only resolved, in your own mind, how your New Year will be, but you have notified everyone and everything in the entire Universe and you have solicited their assistance in achieving your intentions. And from that moment forward – the entire Universe will conspire to assist you.

The Authentic You is the Truth. The Temporary you is the Lie.

Abraham, Mexico Cruise, 4-12-07

Guest: ... when it comes to my career .... I don’t even like to call it a career, because I don’t feel at this point that I have a CAREER .

Abe: That honesty thing is just going to kill you [audience laughter]. You’ve got tell-it-like-it-is-itis. [audience laughter]

G: I know. Yeah. [laughs]

A: Did you have someone up close to you that demanded that you never offer any deception whatsoever? In other words, where did this overeagerness to nail your foot to the floor come from?

G: [long pause] Well you know, you’re onto something there because what you’re saying is, It’s important to me to present myself accurately.

A: And so we would like to present yourself accurately from our point of view. Because we want you to catch a glimpse of who we see you as. We know who you are as you came in. And we’ve seen what life has caused you to become. And we give our undivided attention to your vibrational escrow. And so do all of the resources of the Universe.

And if you don’t turn your attention to what’s in your vibrational escrow, you cause a splitting of energies that keeps your life from going the way you want to. You’ve got to start looking at the Real You. You’ve got to stop being so deceptive and looking dishonestly at the temporary you. You must start looking at the Authentic You. And the Authentic You is over there in vibrational escrow.

You see what we’re getting at? The Authentic You. The You that Law of Attraction is responding to most powerfully. That’s why the stream flows as it does. [Pointing] You’re over here. This is who You are. And you’re uncomfortable until the rest of you comes with it. [Powerfully.] So why are you clinging so hard to the statistics that measure where you are, when the Authentic You is over there with a career that is beyond description from your physical terms right now.

You’ve got to start looking that way and start trying to define it. And most of all you’ve got to stop feeling that that’s deception. Because where you ARE is the true deception. That’s why it feels so bad. Not letting yourself be Who You Are is the great lie you are telling, you see. [huge audience applause]

And there are so many disconnected people willing to help you keep that lie alive. But you’ve come to a new awakening. You’re beginning to SEE Who You Really Are. And you know, now you’ve seen it, you can’t go back. You can NEVER resist going with the stream and feel good. You just HAVE to go with the stream. So, that discomfort you feel isn’t because you’re telling a lie. The discomfort you feel is because you’re beating the drum of where you are and not letting yourself go with the Authentic You.

Abe Classic: Career 101

Abraham from Career Tape AB-19

Your true career is your joyful balanced
life experience.
That is why you are here.
There are many ways you can express yourself.
Start creating from the inside out.

'I want to feel good.'
'I want to be fulfilled.'
'I want to feel my value and my purpose.'
'I want to feel my freedom.'
'I want to feel my joy.'

Confusion comes from not starting from your center.
Do not start on the outside peripheral edges
and try to fix things out there.

Seth Classic: New Job as an Event to be Activated

Seth, The Individual and the Nature of Mass Events, Session 822, Page 106

The inner ego is a portion of the self, for example — is the portion of your self — that is aware of your reincarnational activities. It is the part of you that exists outside of time, yet simultaneously lives in time.

You form your own reality.

The ego that you are aware of obviously could not form your body for you, however, or grow your bones. It knows how to assess the conditions of the world. It makes deductions. Your reasoning is highly important, yet alone it cannot pump your blood or tell your eyes how to see.

The inner ego does the actual work that brings about the events you have decided upon.

In very simple terms, if you want to pick up a book, and then do so, you experience that event consciously, though you are quite unaware of all the inner events that occurred to bring the motion about. The inner ego directs those activities.

If you want to change your job, and hold that desire, a new job will come into your experience in precisely the same fashion, in that the inner events will be arranged by the inner ego. A body event involves the working of numerous muscles and joints and so forth.

An event involving a job change concerns motion on the part of all of the inner egos involved. Obviously, then, a mass physical event implies an inner system of communications of proportions that would put your technological communications to shame.

Abraham: Your Vibrational Résumé

Abraham - Sacramento -7/27/02

Q: Can you give me any insight on attracting a right work?
Abraham:

Well, there are endless possibilities for you. And you have been through your work and through your awareness of downsizing and through the work that you have not liked and through the work you HAVE liked...you’ve set off a very powerful vibrational resume. In other words, the Universe really knows who you are and what you like to do and what you’re good at and where your desires are.

And as you are in a place that is vibrationally neutral...in other words, not pushing against the things you didn’t like, then the Universe - IS yielding yielding to you - but you will allow the receiving of what the Universe is yielding. In other words, we want to say to you, it’s not your job to figure out how, where, when, who. It’s your job to know what you want to and to know how you want to feel and to trust that the Universe knows in detail everything that will please you and is yielding it to you and you’ll know it when you see it.

Our encouragement to you is to trust that it is coming...it ABSOLUTELY is coming. You cannot be as clear as you are in your desire and have the Universe not having ALREADY achieved and lined up circumstances and events. You just have to chill out an let it come and trust that you’ll know it when you see it.

And it won’t be a “Yeah, maybe mmm mmm mmm mmm, yes, no, yes, no”, sort of thing. It’ll be a “Yes!!” It’ll be a “Yes! This is what I’m wanting to do. Yes! Yes! This is it.”

If you're There, you can put this crap down.

Abraham, 2007 Alaskan Cruise

Guest: I have cognitive dissonance between my world of business, which I can play in and have fun, and the world you share of, the spiritual side. I, I found, you know, I wanted to sort of run away from it so I said, Let's go on cruise, it just happened to be an Abraham cruise, my wife was thrilled. And, I find that the business side is so easy and fun. And the spiritual side is a lot of work, for me.

Abraham: Well if your business side is easy and fun then you've got the spiritual thing down, and don't worry about it. [applause]

Guest: I'm there!

Abraham: Because there is not something that you're supposed to do. And there is not some vocabulary that we want you to learn. In other words, if you say, I have found something and when I focus upon it it thrills me and calls me forward, then we say, you have intuitively listened to your Guidance and you're right on track. And these words are superfluous.

Guest: I'm there .... I'm there!

Abraham: Yes, indeed. [big applause]

Abraham: Now he's going to the Lido bar. No point in listening to anymore of this crap ... We mean that in the nicest way. (Big Laughter from Group).

Abe: Go to the Beach in Your Mind

Abraham advises a man who feels imprisoned because his employer is playing power games as he tries to transition to a career in speaking instead of his current job in sales (excerpted from Law of Attraction in Action DVD):

Partial text excerpt:
No one can prevent you from anything when you line up with it, but when you focus upon them you're preventing yourself because you're splitting your energy, and then giving them the credit, and that's how people like that feel powerful.  They're just energy splitters, that's all. They're very good at convincing you to focus your mind in a way that splits your energy. Anyone that seems to have power over anyone that's all they're doing. They're just dancing such a flamboyant dance that you can't get your eyes off of them, and because you can't get your eyes of them, you've got your energy split, and then you're not powerful, but it's not because you can't be, it's because you're focused in a way that's keeping you from your power.

Abraham Advises Writer on Book Sales

AbrahamSan Diego, CA - 2/15/03A

[The guest asking the question is a writer.]

Q: I’ve been [stuck on what is], and one little trigger for that is my book sales were roaring for a while and the last couple of months the book sales have just really dropped. And so then that ‘what-is-ness’ starts to trigger some fear, some lack, whatever, and I’m wanting to step away from that, to step into....

Abraham: Well, we understand that you’ve been oriented, most of you, in this physical environment where you are accustomed to evaluating your life based upon what is. And our effort, as we visit with you in these gatherings, is to get you focused upon what is becoming and not fixated so much upon what is. And if you were forward-looking, rather than looking at what is, it would be much easier for you to be in a place of allowing what is to be better.

In other words, it’s easier to imagine imaginary people coming into your experience and doing imaginary, wonderful things than it is to look at somebody in your experience who’s never done anything very wonderful and imagine them doing something wonderful. It’s easier to imagine success than to take failure and turn it around. It’s just easier when it’s in the imagery than it is when you’re facing reality.

And reality is not as significant as you all want it to be. People will say to us, “If things would get better, I will feel better,” and we say, we don’t doubt that but it doesn’t work that way. You’ve got to feel better and then things get better.

Openings at $75K to $500K+

And so, there is so much that is working. In other words, aren’t you thrilled at the inspiration that poured through you? And aren’t you thrilled with the book that came through you? And aren’t you thrilled with the way it unfolded? And aren’t you thrilled with the way it looks? And aren’t you thrilled with the response that people are having to it? And aren’t you thrilled that you had the wherewithal to get that underway? And aren’t you thrilled that you are an author? And aren’t you thrilled that there are more books still within you? And aren’t you thrilled that it’s a never-ending process?

[The guest has been responding to Abe’s questions with genuine appreciation, saying “Mm-hm” and “Yes.”]

Aren’t you thrilled that you’re here at this time? Aren’t you thrilled at the ability to publish something in this day and age? Aren’t you thrilled at the avid readers that are drawing these things through you? Aren’t you thrilled that there are so many people looking for what you have, and aren’t you thrilled at the idea of them meeting up with you in some way? And aren’t you thrilled at all the ideas that haven’t even occurred to you yet? And aren’t you thrilled at the people that you haven’t met yet that will help you along the way?

Isn’t it exciting to you to think about your future experience, and isn’t it fun to see how it unfolds? Aren’t you excited about meeting the people you don’t know yet, and aren’t you excited about writing the words that you haven’t even thought of yet? And aren’t you excited about the future publishers that will help you, and aren’t you excited about the future publicists that will get you out there? Isn’t it exciting when you think about all the potential that is within you, and aren’t you exhilarated about the unfolding of that which is to come? And doesn’t that feel better than the book that isn’t selling now? You see?

So if you could just get fixated on all that that feels good. The thing that keeps you from doing that is you’ve been convinced, “Abraham, that’s whimsical and this is real, and if it’s real it deserves more air time.” And we say, no, it doesn’t! Don’t give anything that doesn’t feel wonderful any of your attention.

That’s like turning on your radio—it sounds horrible, it’s a bad connection, it’s staticky, and it’s not even your style, and you say, “All right, all right, all right, all right, all right.” And your friends say, “Why are you listening to that?” And you say....

Q: (Laughing.) It’s what is. It’s real.

Abe: It’s what is. It’s what is.

“Do you like it?”

“No, I hate it.”

“Then why are you listening to it?”

It’s on—can’t you hear it? (Laughter.) It’s on.

I feel obligated to listen to it because it’s REAL.”

And we say, it’s not real, it’s just the transmission in the moment. It’s no more real than something magnificent or something truly satisfying, you see.

Abe: An Artist Looking for Alternative Sources of Income Part 2

Abraham : Albuquerque, N.M., 7/21/01 (cont. from yesterday)

Q: I've had some experience of that.

Abe: (Immediately:) Like what?

Q: Well (laughs -- laughter from audience), um... I got a check for $14,000 last December before the house payment was due, and (laughs)....

Abe: Get out of the chair! (Laughter from audience.) That was strong evidence, wasn't it?

Q: Yeah! Yeah! (More laughter.)

Abe: In other words, that was strong, strong, strong, strong, strong evidence, you see. That was really good evidence. Talk about that often. Regurgitate the feeling of that on a really regular basis. Yes. What else?

Q: (Laughing.) It was like the night before, you know? It was like, "How are we gonna make the house payment?" And then it was -– it's just that uneasiness before it.

Abe: Can you see how your life experience answered your question a thousand times better than any words that we've given you, if you just remember that experience? Have there been other experiences?

Q: Well, we just sold our house in a seller's market, and the buyers came and bid it up way over the asking price. (Laughter from audience.)

Abe: It is interesting how hard you hold to your limitations (laughter from audience) amid such evidence of well-being. (More laughter.) Well, we're playing with you because [what you do] is sort of habit -– in other words, it ties in to what we talking about earlier. You're just sort of committed to struggle, most of you, or committed to hacking out your own path.

And so it's the same sort of thing. You have much reason to expect well-being to flow. Just practice that. And most significantly, catch yourself in the act of not expecting it and then laugh about it and reach for a thought that feels better, and watch how fast things begin to avalanche into your experience.

Abe: Be Happy for a Living

We encourage you to decide, as early in life as possible, that your dominant intent and reaosn for existance is to live happily ever after. That would be a very good career choice: to gravitate toward those activities and to embrace those desires that harmonize with your core intentions, which are freedom and growth and joy. Make a career out of living a happy life rather than trying to find work that will produce enough income that you can do the things with your money that will then make you happy. When feeling happy is of paramount importance to you and what you do "for a living" makes you happy you have found the best of all combinations.

Abraham on Wall Street 2008

Abraham, author of a N.Y. Times bestseller on $$$,  fields a question on Wall Street as the financial Crisis erupted in 2008:
